15 minutes from Parabita
The nearest beach destination to Parabita is Baia Verde Puglia — just 14 km away (around 15 minutes by car). This stretch of sandy Ionian coastline, known to locals and visitors alike as Gallipoli Baia Verde, offers beach clubs, free sections and shallow waters suitable for families. Among the great beaches in Italy, it remains one of the least overcrowded — fine sand, warm water, and none of the resort chaos.
Thirteen kilometres away is the town of Gallipoli, with its medieval Angevin Castle reflected in the sea, the historic island town, whitewashed lanes and the Purità beach. Lido San Giovanni, Gallipoli's main beach, is about 13 km from Parabita.

25 minutes from Parabita
About 22 km from Parabita (25 minutes by car), Porto Cesareo and Torre Lapillo are the quintessential beach destination of the Ionian Salento coast. The turquoise waters and extremely shallow seabed — reminiscent of the Caribbean — have earned this area the nickname "Maldives of Salento".
The entire coastline is part of the Porto Cesareo Marine Protected Area, one of the most important in the Mediterranean. The beaches at Torre Lapillo (LE province, between Porto Cesareo and Punta Prosciutto), with brilliant white sand and low reed beds in the background, are among the most photographed in Salento.

Exploring the coast
Thirty minutes from Parabita is Punta Prosciutto, often cited as one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy: white sand, dunes, a maritime pine forest and emerald-green waters. Heading east, Torre San Giovanni (20 min) offers a quieter beach and an authentic fishing village, ideal for those looking to avoid the crowds.
Among the less-known but fast-growing destinations: Padula Bianca, a shallow sandy bay with crystal-clear water just a few kilometres from Gallipoli — ideal for families. And Marina di Felloniche, about 22 km from Parabita: fine sand, clean sea and still very few visitors, considered one of the rising-profile beaches in southern Salento.
